SAHITYA KALA  PARISHAD  TO  FELICITATE ARTISTS AT MOHAN  RAKESH  NATYA SAMAROH

 Delhi Government’s art and culture wing Sahitya Kala Parishad who promotes the various Indian Art & Culture is organising Mohan Rakesh Natya evam Samman Samaroh and Release of Book- Natya Tarang by Chief Guest- Sh. Manish Sisodia, Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister of Delhi. It will be held from 11th to 14th November 2019 at Kamani Auditorium, Mandi House.

 The 4-day festival is a homage to the theatre legend Mohan Rakesh and will showcase plays selected by an expert committee through the all India competition. This year the top four artists who were selected for the Mohan Rakesh Natya Lekan Competition are Dr Sanjeev Kumar for Kritha, Shri Raas bihari Dutt for Chaya- Hindol, Shri Ravikant Mishra for Anth se Aarambh and Shri Yogesh Tripathi for Chauthi Cigarette.

 Each day one of these four selected plays will be showcased. On the first day, after the award ceremony, the audience will get to see Dr Sanjeev Kumar’s Kritha which is directed by Sanjay Upadhyay. The playwright for this play won the first prize at the competition held by Sahitya Kala Parishad. On the second day, Shri Ravikant Mishra’s Anth se Aarambh will be showcased. The third winner of the competition will be directed by Abhilash Pillai. This will be followed by Shri YogeshTripati’sChauthi Cigarette to be showcased on the third day and will be directed by Dr Daanish Iqbal. On the last day of the festival, the second prize winner – Shri Raas bihari Dutt’s Chaya-Hindol will be presented by Bharati Sharma as director.
Talking about the event, Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, said, “The event being a homage to the theatre legend Mohan RakeshJi, we aim to provide a platform to the upcoming talents in the field of theatre. We may just get another Mohan Rakesh of this generation. With so many submission of playwrights from across India with a unique storyline, it’s tough for the expert committee to select four best plays. I wish the best to every talent and may their flair be recognized worldwide.”
