When it comes to acting and dancing- says choreographer Shabina Khan
Remember the iconic song “Tera bimaar mera dil” from the 1989’s iconic film Chalbaz? Urvashi Rautela will be seen shaking her leg along with John Abraham in their upcoming movie “Pagalpanti.”
According to Urvashi, she looks at the song as a tribute to one of Hindi Cinema’s most vibrant actresses, Sridevi.
Reports suggest that for almost a month Urvashi used to train for 3 hours everyday as she wanted to give her 200%.During the shooting of the song, it is said that Urvashi was running a 102 degree fever yet she didn’t stop the shoot. What makes this song even more special is the fact that she has tried to introduce her own touch to this super hit song. She will be seen nailing an extremely difficult ballet act – a 180 degree split.
Her efforts and dedication to the song is a testimony of her love and respect for the acting goddess – Sridevi.
Talking about Urvashi’s dedication, Shabina Khan who has choreographed the song said ‘ Urvashi is an extremely good dancer already but I am amazed by the kind of hard work and dedication she has put in. She has nailed some extremely difficult steps in the song. I am very happy to get the opportunity to work with her’.
Urvashi also shared her excitement, ‘ This is a huge opportunity that Anees Bazmi Sir has given me, I am a huge fan of Sridevi Ma’am and to be a able to recreate one of her iconic songs was a lot of responsibility. I have given my everything into this song, and I am very hopeful that the audience will show me a lot love for this one’.
The choreographer of the song, Shabina Khan, who brought the whole piece to life with Urvashi has over 15 years of experience in dance, 1 year learning tenure, 6 years as Assistant Choreographer with all the leading choreographers such as Ganesh Hegde, Ganesh Acharya, Prabhudeva & Saroj Khan and over 8 years of experience till date as Independent Dance Choreographer. She has learned acting and classical dance from Madhumati’s Academy of Dance and Acting. Learned Belle and Modern Contemporary dancing from UK. High level of dancing abilities. Thorough knowledge of dance and performance.
