INTRODUCING ‘CIRCULAR CHANGEMAKERS’ – INDIA’S FIRST INVESTMENT READINESS PROGRAM TO EMPOWER SUSTAINABLITY ENTERPRISES AT LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK

IMG Reliance developed and successfully launched the Circular Design Challenge (CDC), an initiative by R Elan’s ‘Fashion For Earth’, Lakmé Fashion Week and UN Environment, last year. CDC is India’s first and largest sustainability award in a fashion which was launched with support from Intellecap’s Circular Apparel Innovation Factory (CAIF) – an industry-led platform with the mission to strengthen capabilities and build the ecosystem needed to transition to a circular textile & apparel industry in India. Building on this partnership, CAIF is now working with the CDC to create a program to showcase innovations and solutions for a circular economy across the textile & apparel value chain and introduces ‘Circular Changemakers’.

The program welcomes applications from start-ups across the country, offering scalable, post-prototype and revenue-generating solutions. Their contribution to the textile and apparel industry must be less harmful and provide renewable inputs.

Entries fitting these criteria and looking for strategic investors and partnerships can now submit their applications at http://bit.ly/circularchangemaker. The last date to submit entries is 30th June 2019.

From the pool of applications, six start-ups – ‘changemakers’ – will be chosen to participate in a boot camp by industry experts. The 3 module Bootcamp focuses on providing visibility to change-makers in the sustainable and circular fashion space, exposing them to important aspects of ‘Capital Raising’, ‘Business & Financial Modelling’ and ‘Investor Pitch Preparation’.Following the boot camp, enterprises will pitch their value proposition and business model to a panel of investors on the 22nd August that is the Sustainable Fashion Day at Lakmé Fashion  Week Winter/Festive 2019. They will get the opportunity to receive strategic investments and partnerships through their pitch to a group of potential strategic investors from reputed impact investment funds such as Aavishkaar Venture Management Sevices, innovation platforms such as Fashion for Good, foundations, industry associations, etc. The pitch event will be followed by a networking session with key industry stakeholders such as brands, manufacturers, and others.

Jaspreet Chandhok, Vice President and Head of Fashion at IMG Reliance said, “This program will focus on strategic investments for value chain start-ups while CDC remains as a jury-based cash award for entrepreneurs in fashion. There is an untapped opportunity to provide circular fashion enterprises with scaling support in the form of strategic collaborations and investments. We are happy to partner with CAIF to identify and champion the change-makers in our country.”

Vikas Bali, CEO, Intellecap said: “It is core to Intellecap’s footprint in India to search, seed, support and scale high impact innovations across India. One of the roles we take with CAIF is to build the market for circular innovations to reach scale. Launching India’s first investor showcase for circular textile and apparel innovators in partnership with CDC is a critical stepping-stone to close gaps in the current ecosystem and create visibility for change-making circular fashion startups.”

Mumbai, the financial capital of India, is called the City of Dreams, and looking at how the city has transformed people from rags to riches surely justifies the tags.
In a country of 1.2 billion people, making a way in the film industry is, indeed, not an easy job. Makeup Expert Shivanyah Ghai

Since makeup has become a part of our daily lifestyle. Here are some tips of what to keep in mind while doing makeup in summers.

CTM – cleansing, toning and moisturising . This is one of the most important prerequisites of a makeup, make sure you cleanse your skin and use an oil-free moisturiser in the morning. Since I am very particular when it comes to my skin I use all natural products from DCD (Desi Cow Dairy) they use all organic ingredients and essential oils from Australia and England . I use rose facial cream and Tea tree and rose water toner that suits my oily skin.
Less is more during summers – Lighten your routine for the summers and use only what u think your skin requires , while colour correction is important , use a concealer to cover under eye and areas of concern with a finger . If that works well for you, one can skip the foundation too.
Base should be light and thin – Apply lighter layers. One can mix the illuminator in the foundation itself to get that dewy, subtle look that is really in! Or mix your oil free mosturiser with the foundation itself to get that sheer glow .
Have a proper personal kit and invest in proper tools – While most of us have a light base during summers just to even out our complexion , it may slide off and end up looking like oily patches , make sure to have a beauty blender or synthetic buffing brush to push the product into your skin .
*  Colour palette – Since it is warm outside , one should go for naked or nude colours that are always in fashion , use shades of brown , smudge liner or kohl look with a nude matte lip shade (preferably liner should be smudge proof). Maintain a balance between eyes and lips, if you want to keep your eyes heavy use a lighter lip shade and vice versa.
Always set your makeup – It is very important during summers , while most of us use compact powder , I feel loose powder is a much lighter form and sets the makeup really well . Fix the makeup with a makeup fixer, for that I use inglot makeup fixer or urban decay setting spray .

* Don’t go too heavy on base -Avoid creamy foundations or anything too luminous, as humidity can make it look extra shiny and sweaty-looking. Use a bronzer just to highlight high points of your face, forehead, cheekbones, chin and nose (covering all your face gives you that fake, over baked and over matured look).

This rising singing star takes recreations of old golden hits to another level without any music label.

This rising singing star takes recreations of old golden hits to another level without any music label
Perfect mixing and recreation of old golden numbers of Bollywood with today’s western flavor of music isn’t everybody’s cup of tea. As people find a strange affectionate nostalgia with popular old hit songs, many times, a recreation of them had been harshly criticized in the industry.
Well, Suryaveer is certainly one of the names who has brought a change in the story. A Delhi blood and a contemporary music sense have made him a perfect combination of traditional and present-day flavor which actually encourages him to recreate Bollywood’s old hit tunes.
Suryaveer has a unique tone of voice which makes his songs so loved and appreciated by the audience. Some of his recreated songs are “O Saathi Re”, “Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye”, “Alvida” to name a few. However, the most interesting part is, this soon-to-be-star singer, Suryaveer, uploads his music videos on his own YouTube channel without any umbrella of big brands and still manages to get views of over 10 million which clearly shows that people are actually loving Suryaveer’s quality work rather than a brand name.
Suryaveer had debuted in Bollywood with 2013’s film “Prague” apart from which he, with his Delhi-based band ‘Ehsaas’ performs extensively across the country.
Suryaveer has also received many awards till date, including being nominated twice for GIMA award,  Felicitation from CII and “Excellence in live performance” award from Radio City to name a few with the experience of performing more than 1000 live shows in India as well as Abroad.

Artist Swati Pasari’s Abstract paintings involve the viewer at a deeper level

 CELEBRATING LIFE

Artist  Swati Pasari’s latest collection of abstract paintings involve the viewer at a deeper level.  “Celebrating Life”, that’s how the young and talented artist calls her Art Work as she believes in spreading happiness and positivity through her art and celebrating life.

Through her Collection, she made an attempt to understand her own personality and life around her. “My paintings are a reflection of my thought process. When I paint, I think and feel inner peace and beauty, serenity and calmness. So my paintings manifest these feelings. As I go along with the creations, I build on the idea of what the painting should look like”, says the artist.

Swati has earned accolades for her work across the globe. The themes of her paintings include immortality, timelessness and finding inner peace. While her art has immense artistic maturity, she has been painting only since 2007. And in these few years, she has already exhibited her paintings in several parts of the world with many upcoming exhibitions scheduled.

She looks at each painting as a mirror that portrays herself and all that she stands for. Being a Pranic Healer, she has a strong spiritual side to herself and most of her paintings are made with the intention of spreading positivity.

“They say that you have to be lost in order to be found. Every artist strives for inner peace, and art is only a method of finding inner wholesomeness”, adds Swati.
