Charista Foundation conducted a successful seminar and awareness campaign on the eve of UN’s International Day of Older Persons (UNIDOP) on 1, October 2022 at the Speakers Hall at Constitution Club of India, Rafi Marg, New Delhi. The seminar was focussed on the mental and physical health of the elderly population of the country. Shri Vinit Goenka (Member of CRIS & BJP Spokesperson Delhi Pradesh) spoke specifically about the social, legal and emotion set up to deal with the issues arising out the care of the elderly. Several other eminent speakers spoke on the subject. Alongwith the discussions a Nukkad Naatak by Sukhmanch Theatre created lot of awareness on the subject and the audience remained spellbound. This was followed by screening of the awarded social short ‘Poonam’, produced exclusively by Charista Foundation to raise awareness on elder loneliness and depression.
This seminar is an attempt to raised the subject of issue of elder’s psychological health into limelight by bringing the government , society, media, corporates, social influencers and elders on a single platform and create policies and plans, to enable cohesive care. Charista Foundation has been created for the said purpose and working vigorously for raising concern about the issue and create awareness in the minds of the people.
