Independence Day Special

What’s on my Mind …

On August 15, India will celebrate its 74th Independence Day but the celebrations this year will be different due to the corona virus pandemic.

Let’s hear what these exceptional women have on their minds this Independence Day…

“I’m in Mumbai this Independence Day.  Since the day reminds every Indian about the dawn of a new beginning, I just wish it also leads to dusk of the covid-19 situation in our country and around the globe. Me being from an army background, also adds a lot of importance to life, I look forward to brighter days ahead with flag hosting on TV ,kite flying at home and wearing my tricolour bangles”,  shares Actor Mannara Chopra.

“Every year the Independence Day reminds us of the strength of the Indian people to overcome most difficult situations with courage and determination and the same is being reflected by efforts taken by the people of India in these harsh times to overcome this pandemic. Let’s welcome this Independence Day in style donning the tricolor masks to get freedom from the ongoing pandemic”, says Designer Savi Abott who has designed tri-colour masks for the occasion.

Joan Miro once said, “A simple line painted with the brush can lead to freedom and happiness.” “If you ask me, art is the most beautiful form of freedom. If you do not embrace your freedom and unleash it on your artwork, your canvas will be a blank space. Freedom for me is to choose, what I want to be, to say what I feel and to paint what my soul wants to speak and that is the freedom that matters the most. If each of your movement is controlled, thoughts monitored and brush strokes are resisted, independence would mean nothing. Art is what sets me free as an artist and art is what gives me a taste of freedom”, says Artist Swati Pasari.

“Freedom is hard to get, but we were blessed to have it. Let’s appreciate everything we have and celebrate the great miracle of freedom. We all have come a long way in this fight against Covid-19, but it’s still not the end. We have a long path ahead. All I can think this Independence Day is to provide the labour and artisans as much work as possible. I have designed some of the most exquisite masks using hand embroidery, aariwork and pearls, to keep workers engaged. Its helping them sustain in this tough time. Economic empowerment is something which is on my mind this Independence Day.  We have also designed some beautiful independence day face masks which washable and reusable, so we do not disrespect the tricolour by discarding the masks after one use”, adds Designer Tuhina Mehrotra.

A Joyful Healing&Sound Therapy

Impact on Our Lives
 By Dr Anju Sharma

Manbhavan, a popular and joyful support circle in India organized by Manovikas Charitable Society is gaining immense popularity for their virtual programs held exclusively for differently-abled people. The virtual platform was graced by Dr Anju Sharma, a renowned Psychic reformer, Sound & Energy Master, Wellness-Holistic Coach, International Speaker and Founder of the Musical Healing Band named “Sound of Infinity”.

Dr Anju started the session by discussing sounds and their frequencies around us and their impact on us. She made the session more interesting and interactive by making the students and the audience do breathing and clapping exercises followed by the counting of 1 to 30 with watching time. These exercises help to increase concentration. She also discussed how to keep the left and right brain active by doing Gyan Mudra, a brain-gymming exercise. It was a fun activity in which students have to focus on one hand in Gyan Mudra and swinging it left to right while humming any song or a simple birthday song. As the session continued, Dr Anju asked all the students and the parents to draw a landscape that helps to understand what is going inside an individual’s mind, to know how much a child and parents are connected and how the child perceives the outside world. She will analyse each landscape, once sent to her.

Discussing the sound therapy, Dr Anju Sharma suggested the audience listen to the kind of music they love but advised not to listen to rock or loud music. Listening to sounds like flowing water, breeze or bird chirping can help in opening the brain nerves and makes the person energetic. Sound healing meditation also helps in removing fear and stress. She further helped with a few tips on colour healing for specific problems. The session concluded with Dr Anju answering a few questions from the parents. The audience was seen enjoying the activities and were happy to interact with Dr Anju Sharma.

In the wake of the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19, Manovikas Family has created the Manbhavan virtual programme to engage and connect with their students and other individuals with disabilities during this isolation time. It is a platform through which the team provides support to individuals and families struggling with isolation, emotional, and other family-related crises. Manbhavan is an opportunity to meet with a famous personality and create a friend circle, learning, performing, live virtual dance, music, painting, art and craft, concerts, drum play, virtual cooking classes, virtual yoga, and many more online activities. This virtual event is free and only for people with disabilities.

Makeup & Mask

Mess- free Makeup while Wearing Mask

 By Dr. Blossom Kochhar

Rather than using a foundation which might get messed up, use a BB cream. Further use a tinted powder over your BB cream that matches your skin tone. This will pack your base and make it smudge free.

Use a water-proof lipstick, better use a lipstick Stainer. It will not leave a mark on your mask and won’t smudge under it. Remember to line your lips before or after the lip Stainer, as it will give a clear definition to your lips.

With eye makeup you can go to town. Use a light colour shimmery eye shadow, for daytime use a cream or copper shadow and for the night opt for gold eye shadow. Apply it from the eyelid right to just below the eyebrow. Then apply a darker shade in your socket, like a dark brown.

Use eyeliners, you can even opt for blue or green liners. In fact, you can also opt for graphic eye liners to draw attention to your eyes. Wear a kajal as it enhances your eyes. The whole idea is to highlight the eyes as most of the face is covered with a mask.

Always use water-proof mascara, especially during monsoon. But do not wear heavy mascara.

Use a powder blush rather than a creamy one as it will not leave a stain or will not look like a patch just above your mask. Just use a hint of blush and blend it well.

How Color therapy heals Physical & Emotional Health

 By Dr Anju Sharma

The main objective of color therapy is to correct physiological and psychological imbalances in the human body.

There are 9 frequencies in the universe which have 9 colors.  Each color has different physical or psychological symptoms.

We have seven colors and according to Indian philosophy, these seven colors represent the chakras that are the centres of spiritual power and the energy field within our bodies. The flow of energy in the human body (and even in the universe) moves upward. Therefore, when the chakras move from its place or become imbalanced color therapy helps to bring them back to its point.

  1. Red

Red is a passionate and warm color which brings vitality and stimulates energy. It is the base color representing the root chakra, located at the base of the spine. It is the basic frequency connected to the Earth. If the red frequency is excessively high then that person is over-confident in every aspect of life. If the red frequency is low, then that person lives in fear. The suicidal tendency also comes into the frame if the red frequency is on the lower side.

  1. Orange

Orange is related to joy and happiness and represents the Sacral Chakra which is located 2-3 inches below the navel. It is the mind-body chakra. This colour is associated with reproduction, body parts like adrenals and pleasure. If the orange frequency is weak then the frequency of creativity also goes down. People with low orange frequency face infertility issues. Sexual desire falls. Even the water element is weak. On the other hand, if the frequencies are high the sexual desires are also high. If you want to create anything new either a project or a new life, the colour orange is very important.

  1. Yellow

Yellow represents the Solar Plexus Chakra, located between the navel and sternum. This bright and cheerful color can help stimulate intelligence and also detoxify the body and mind and enhance the immunity to heal ailing people. Yellow color indicates fire and symbol of action. If the yellow frequency is weak then the ability to activate our plans go down. If a person gets easily anxious it is because the frequency of the colour yellow is imbalanced. Such people also face digestive issues.

  1. Green

Color Green represents the Heart Chakra. It’s associated with body parts like the heart and lungs. Since the color is associated with the heart so all related issues like peace, harmony, calmness and the feeling of lack of love can be sorted with this color. This color is known for its balanced healing properties. People with low green frequency are  introvert. If the frequency is in excess then the person is called an extrovert. Both introverts and extroverts don’t have harmony.

  Blue

Blue represents the Throat Chakra. This is associated with the thyroid and metabolism. Anybody who has thyroid their blue frequency is imbalanced. Looking from the psychological aspect, most of these ailing people are females. As they are suppressive. These days even kids are falling in this category. During this Covid-19, the frequency of color blue is getting disturbed. Increase in domestic violence has increased the suppression that lowers the frequency and makes the person weak.

  1. Indigo

Indigo is all about vision. It represents The Third Eye Chakra, located between the eyebrows. This is associated with the pituitary gland and influences our sleep cycles, self-esteem, clarity, wisdom, and intuition. This color is good especially for the kids, to increase their focus, memory and concentration.  On the physical level, problems like headache, weak eyesight are the symptoms.

  1. Violet

Violet represents the Crown Chakra which is located at the top of the head. It is associated with awareness, higher consciousness and insight. It is the connection between the internal and external world. All those people who want to do meditation but are not able to because of lack of connection and distraction are due to their low frequency of color violet. On the health front, these colors are related to the cerebral and nervous systems.

Besides these, 2 more colors are there that add up to 9 colors in total- Black and White

  1. Black– It is the color of absorption. Wear it where you want to hide your personality.
  2. White– White is the color of reflection as well as spirituality. It is also the color of the universe because white is the source of all the other colors. The universe started with the white light and ends with black.

Remedies:

To correct the misbalanced color frequencies, below discussed methods are mostly recommended.

*     Start wearing that particular color. If you don’t want to wear then keep trying to keep that color around you so that your body can absorb its frequencies. A particular color has various shades. Therefore, wear those shades that you connect with. The same concept is applied to gemstones as well. If we see in psychological perspective, your emotions are also weak due to imbalanced color frequency.

*     Water is considered as the first medicine. Drinking water helps your body. If we infuse the frequencies of the color into water and then consume, it will work wonders. Take fresh drinking water in a glass bottle, wrap it with the shade of the color you connect with and place it in the early morning sun for around 2 hours. The sun’s rays will have infused the water with the color frequencies which you can consume the entire day. Avoid plastic bottles.

*  If you feel that all your colors’ frequencies are disturbed then start with the red base frequency. That is the survival instinct. Follow it for 20-25 days then move to the next colour in line – orange. If most of the people balance the red frequency, the root chakra then 90% of the problem is solved. Wear those colors that connect to you..

Evoking Decadence & Timelessness

The Great Grand Gazebo by Karara Mujassme

Architects have always used ornamentation to enliven and inform their work. The Greeks favoured caryatids, Gothic designers embraced gargoyles, and the Art Deco era saw the rise of pyramidal motifs. While architects and interior designers decorate homes with exquisite ornamentation, why should gardens be left behind?

Enter the Great Grand Gazebo, an awe-inspiring marble gazebo crafted by Karara Mujassme. Established in 1995, Delhi-based Karara Mujassme offers timeless outdoor furniture and home decor products.

The Great Grand Gazebo is a pristine marble gazebo inspired by dreamy Victorian gardens. It is known as the Great Grand Gazebo as it is the third in a series of marble gazebos created by Karara Mujassme over its 25 year history. This majestic pavilion is the largest of the three, featuring 12 columns, and also boasts of detailed decorative elements. It has been crafted from Proconnesian marble from Turkey and it took 5-6 artisans over two years to complete this piece of art. The entire gazebo is made from the same lot of marble, therefore, the hue of the marble is uniform throughout the pavilion. The marble block was carefully selected from the mines, keeping in mind the desired colour and density. Additionally, the gazebo was carved using the age-old European technique of compass cutting.

The front and back façades of the gazebo are accentuated by exquisitely detailed Romanesque arches supported on columns. The arches are adorned with carvings depicting paradisiacal scenes complete with angels. The intricately crafted caryatid marble columns and floral details add elegance and artistry to the gazebo. Each column and arch is unique and features distinctive elements. For instance, the pavilion’s four main columns depict the four seasons—spring, summer, fall, and winter. Furthermore, small slabs of marble are placed between each column that can be used as holders for decorative pieces such as planters or urns. These platforms also offer a spectacular spot to sit and gaze out into the garden. They can serve
as a perfect unwinding space for a family.

The Great Grand Gazebo by Karara Mujassme is an amalgam of impeccable artistry and exquisite design to evoke decadence and timelessness. It’s a thought-provoking and intriguing pavilion, with surprises sprinkled in every corner. The pavilion has been designed and crafted entirely in India by Indian artisans. With the Great Grand Gazebo, Karara Mujassme brings the charm of Europe to India.
